My leadership journey began as an 18-year-old McDonald’s manager, a time in my career where I learned how to, and more importantly, how not to motivate people. The lessons I learnt at this early stage have stayed with me throughout, and stood me in good stead when it came to leading larger and more complex teams. McDonald’s gave me the opportunity to work with some really inspirational leaders who shaped the way I lead to this day.

As my career progressed into retail with Wickes DIY, my journey from branch to boardroom began to accelerate, and my thirst for learning and development with it. Completing a level 7 diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Iin 2010, awakened me to the possibilities outside of retail, and led to a move to Travis Perkins to run a large flagship operation for the first time in my career.

This was where I really honed my skills as a leader, taking a stuttering business forward with a great team, creating something special, which ultimately led to transition into regional directorship, and then, in 2021 into BSS (part of the Travis Perkins group) and in 2022 onto the board as Sales & Operations Director.

I experienced executive coaching during the pandemic, with career and life-changing results, and coaching came firmly into view, and I knew it would be my calling at some point. That opportunity came about in the summer of 2023 and Ceniril Coaching was born.
